چکیده

In order to quantify the internalization of stimulus control during skill learning, 20 rats were trained to complete a left-right sequence of lever presses guided by the onset and offset of panel lights over the respective levers. Once sequence accuracy was high and stable, the rats were divided into two groups. For the No-Lights group, the lights were eliminated without changing the response requirements. Sequence accuracy decreased in all subjects, but accuracy was higher than that predicted by random chance, implying internalization of stimulus control. The Reversed-Lights group controlled for potential generalization decrement by presenting the lights in reversed order without changing the response requirements. Sequence accuracy immediately plummeted and did not recover. S-R associations involving external stimuli apparently overshadowed internal cues. This study provides a method (an animal model) for the quantitative measurement of the degree of internalization of stimulus control during skill learning in a well-controlled environment.

Facilitating Internalization in E-Learning Through New Information System

This paper aims to study Vygotsky’s (1987) sociocultural theory of learning with respect to how it relates to technology-based second language learning and teaching. The researchers selected their participants from advanced students from Payame Noor University. We divided the participants into two groups- an experimental group and a control group. After teaching the course an experimental group...

بررسی کیندلینگ الکتریکی به وسیله تحریکات الکتریکی مکرر کف پای موش صحرایی

Background and purpose: Kindling is an animal model of epilepsy induced by repeated stimulation of the brain. The amygdala has been the focus of interest due to large part to its role in epilepsy induction and in fear conditioning in both human and rats. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate whether low electrical stimulation of foot pad of rats during fear can facilitate amygdala...

The effect of hypernatraemia on ketamine anaesthesia in male rats

We studied the effects of a single ketamine injection in an experimental model of chronic hypernatraemia in rats. Three groups, each of 20 male Wistar rats were chosen for the experiment; the control group was given water and the test groups were given 1% (group 1) and 2% (group 2) NaCl solutions for two weeks. All groups were fed with the same diet, containing about 0.5% salt. Other living con...

شرایط هیپرناترمیک و بیهوشی با داروی کتامین: رت‌های نر ویستار

Background: The function of internal systems can be influenced significantly by hypernatremia, even anesthesia may be affected by this electrolyte imbalance. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of a single anesthetic dose of ketamine in an experimental rat model of chronic hypernatremia. Methods: Sixty male Wistar rats, weighing 300(±20)g, were allocated randomly to three grou...

The emotive brain, the noradrenergic system, and cognition

Motivation and attention can have a profound influence on perception, learning and memory. Neuromodulatory systems, especially the noradrenergic (NE) system, co-vary with psychological states to modulate cortical arousal, influence sensory processing and promote synaptic plasticity. There is even some suggestion that the NE system might facilitate functional recovery after brain damage. Post-sy...
